Biography and Career
Candice Rene Accola was born in Houston, Texas. She is the daughter of Carolyn, an environmental engineer before becoming a homemaker, and Kevin, a cardiothoracic surgeon. She grew up in Edgewood, Florida and attended Lake Highland Preparatory School.
Candice had guest appearances in television series such as How I Met Your Mother, Supernatural, and Drop Dead Diva. In 2009, she was cast in the CW television series The Vampire Diaries as Caroline Forbes until the series finale in 2017. She had guest roles in The Originals as the same character.
Candice is the host of the Directionally Challenged podcast along with her co-host and co-creator Kayla Ewell. Described as a "Podcast About Realigning Your Internal Compass. 30-Something Women Asking Life's Questions, And Learning From People Who Just Might Have Some Answers".
In 2019, she was cast as Kimberly in the romance-drama film, After We Collided which is set for a 2020 release. Anna wanted to cast Candice as Kimberly and asked Roger Kumble to help her. They reached out to Candice who had heard of the film and was excited to join the project.
In 2020, filming for the final two films of the franchise began, but Candice was not involved due to her late term pregnancy. Filming would require her to fly to Sofia, Bulgaria amongst the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Her role was ultimately recast to Arielle Kebbel, her former The Vampire Diaries co-star.
